Aura finance is a Convex finance like protocol created for Balancer fi, to START WITH.
It’s a lot like convex but one of the issues with convex is that most of the supply has been distributed already, while Aura Finance still can emit a lot of Aura tokens to possibly accumulate another protocol in the future that isn't balancer on top of what they have already, which is significant. 26% of veBAL has been locked into Aura in just a few weeks since the liquidity bootstrapping phase (LBP).
Convex can be best described as a megadao, optimisation of other daos.
Originaly it started off solely focussed on $CRV, while Aura finance clearly has a broader then 1 protocol focus from the get go.
Aura Finance has impressive devs and advisors, 0xMaki, famed from Sushi protocol and Tetranode is also involved as an advisor on the board. Tetranode projects ftw!
The original intention of Aura Finance is to accumulate Balancer voting power (veBAL), but as they say on the homepage, it's just the start.
We discuss how Curve Finance and Balancer finance are similair but also focus on the new balancer tokenomics - veBAL - and the Aura Finance tokenomics - AuraBAL - the big difference with veCRV is that the veBAL generates more liquidity for the balancer token. As the ecosystem grows, the liquidity increases.
With the veBAL tokenomic upgrade Balancer has gauges where token holders can vote on and can direct liquidity by awarding more emissions to certain BPT (Balancer Pool Token). Apart from the veBAL tokenomics we also look at the auraBAL tokenomics and the AURA emissions.
Because there are gauges, there is also already a bribe marketplace live thanks to redacted cartel over at hidden hand, I've included links in the description. You can even auto delegate to receive hidden hand bribes. Which will all filter back value to redacted cartel dao, but that would be an explanation for a different video.
My aura finance strategy is to farm it with auraBAL, stack AURA tokens while more new auraBAL deepens the liquidity.
